Good Tool works well for our whole team.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We leverage Retool to quickly build and manage a range of internal tools that support our business. Retool allows our teams—operations, customer success, and product—to access and act on data without requiring extensive engineering resources. Retool helps us reduce manual processes and consolidate data into a single interface that allows me and other teams to have the info we need at our fingertips.

Pros

  • Our teams often needed to pull information from multiple databases, which gave us visibility into all of it in one place.
  • Unified dashboards for real-time insights, reducing the need tapping engineering.
  • Internal dashboards that help our support team quickly resolve and fix issues by accessing all relevant data in one place.
  • Reduces operational overhead and manual data entry.

Cons

  • Some Retool apps can become slow to load or refresh.
  • When multiple team members work on the same app, changes can overwrite each other or break functionality.
  • The UI/UX is pretty basic.

Return on Investment

  • Good ROI to give our teams the data they need.
  • Some dashboards can be slow so it can take more time/ bandwidth.
  • As apps grow more complex, troubleshooting logic or query dependencies can be time-consuming.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We used Retool to build our admin panel. This means it's important for us and used every day by multiple people in our org.

Pros

  • Ease of use - someone with small amount of experience can use it.
  • Adaptability - you can build a lot of things with it.
  • Reliability - works quite well.

Cons

  • Loading speed - not sure if this is just us, but in my experience, it's not the fastest loading platform.
  • More customization with colors and fonts.

Return on Investment

  • Major impact - ability to build a backend system is huge.
  • Major impact - used every day by multiple people.
  • Major impact - ability to be used by less technical teammates.

Usability

Powerful Low Code App Builder

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I needed to create an app which utilizes Google Sheet data as a backend. Retool halps me connect Gsheet and use the data across my app. They also provide ability to 'transform' the data by using JS Transformers. Since I am not that great with frontend design, Retool has helped me with that regrard by offering prebuilt UI components like Cards, Dropdowns, Tables which I use in my app to display data.

Pros

  • Connect to Gsheet as a backend data
  • No Code front End Design
  • Ability to trasnform/modify data on the go

Cons

  • Could offer more 'better looking' front end UI componenets to make apps even better

Most Important Features

  • No code/Low Code builder
  • Ability to connect to Gsheet

Return on Investment

  • saved time to build apps
