Overall Satisfaction with 6sense
My company's marketing department uses 6sense for intent data. (I.e., to monitor what companies/prospects are researching our products and how intensely they are doing so. This helps us determine how far along they might be in their buying journey.)
My personal use case is a bit different from that of my marketing colleagues. I'm interested in market intelligence, with a focus on industry trends and competitors. I have attempted to use 6sense to understand who are top competitors are and what issues are top-of-mind for companies/prospects researching both us and our competitors.

Pros
- Reveal the level of buying intent for prospects visiting our site
- Permit granular customization of search words and phrases
- Integrate into Salesforce
Cons
- Took more effort and expense than desired to implement
- Lots of ongoing effort to maintain massive keyword lists (competitors, products, topics)
- Reducing false positives for companies/products with common/generic names
- Desire better ability (and convenience) to extract insights about competitors
- Probably a negative ROI in the first year, as we spent more money & effort to implement than anticipated
- Once we were up-and-running and worked out the kinks, we've enjoyed a positive ROI
- Increased opportunity identification (i.e., discovery of the "quiet buyers") earlier in the buying cycle
Yes, 6sense has helped us match anonymous signals to accounts. Accuracy on this front seems to be OK but certainly not perfect. The main benefit is to help uncover "quiet buyers" who are researching our products but have formally reached out.
Perhaps the biggest benefit has been to show when a known account has more interest/intent than we knew about. (E.g., we knew already that Company X had some interest, but we didn't realize how widespread that interest was until 6sense showed us that dozens of their employees were checking us out.)

I don't personally use these capabilities.
