Overall Satisfaction with 8x8 Virtual Office

I have been using the product at two companies. First, we used it in support of a client in a call center atmosphere. Combined with 8x8 Virtual Contact Center, we were able to manage a remote workforce to provide 24x7 client support. Currently, we have also implemented the service across my current company so that all staff uses the product.
  • The SmartPhone App works well to provide remote/field workers to answer calls without anyone knowing where they are.
  • The Chat/Instant Message features allow us to keep in contact with folks in the office and in the field.
  • The emailed voicemails make it easy to share messages, and allows quicker access on the road.
  • There are times when the Smartphone App only rings one time and you are unable to answer.
  • There are times when a missed call from the cell phone app cannot be removed from your cell phone, and you have to restart it.
  • The newer SoftPhone application is not as easy to use for sending faxes as it was with the previous version.
  • The ROI on a distributed workforce is great. It saves the need for installing phone lines across all locations.
  • For a large centralized workforce, the cost seems to be more expensive than putting in a premise-based system.
  • Every user must have an assigned number, whereas with a PBX you can have "hoteling" phones that do not incur a cost.
We use the 8x8 Virtual Call Center. We find the product works very well and fits our need exceptionally, at a fraction of the cost of other companies. The cost of implementation was also significantly less than its competitors, such as RingCentral. The fact that you can also assign field personnel a virtual number for use on their smartphone saves on the cost of giving out a physical set.
I think it is a great product for all office sizes. It allows you to easily take calls from a desk phone, smartphone app, or softphone client on your PC.
