Overall Satisfaction with ActivTrak
We are a fully remote company using ActivTrak to track employee productivity. I wish we could trust people to be adults and have their stuff together, and for the most part, we can. However, several individuals at the company don't work when they say they're working or even take measures to appear online while galivanting around the countryside. ActivTrak lets us keep tabs on people using the Big Brother style, which I love and hate. I love the solution but hate the need for such a solution.
Pros
- ActivTrak gives me a breakdown of hours during which my employees were actively working, when they were active online but unproductive, when they were inactive, and when they were not online.
- ActivTrak gives me a detailed breakdown of the software, platforms, and programs my employees worked on/in during each block of the day.
- ActivTrak provides a detailed breakdown of how I spend my time each day to help me improve my productivity.
Cons
- N/A
- ActivTrak has allowed us to reduce the number of hours wasted during the work day.
- ActivTrak has allowed us to bust dishonest employees doing shady things like clocking in and leaving their desks to play all day or using mouse jigglers to make it appear as though they're online.
- I like the productivity report. I can see how many hours my employees spent in productive work, unproductive activities, inactivity, and not logging in at all.
- I like the top website reports that show me what sites my employees visit during each block of time in a day.
ActivTrak has helped our organization improve productivity by tracking people's computer activity on work days. It's given us the ability to spy on people and ensure they stay on task, which I hate to say, but the insights have been invaluable. It sounds like an invasion of privacy when stated, but we think of it as the same as looking around the bullpen in a traditional office, where we are an in-person workforce. If someone left the building for 4 hours or were sitting at their desk playing computer games, nobody would bat an eye when I reprimanded them—the same thing.
Honestly, I have not seen ActivTrak do this.
