Overall Satisfaction with ADP Workforce Now

We used ADP Workforce Now at my previous place of employment. It was being used as an HRIS and time management system. Therefore, we would use it to run payroll, as well as maintain employee records. This would include information such as information specific to position, job type, location, and department, as well as information pertaining to the individual employee. This included contact information.
  • ADP Workforce now did an excellent job at creating a system with multiple functions. This simplifies multiple processes within the Human Resources Department.
  • Workforce Now did a tremendous job at providing helpful and knowledgeable representatives to answer questions and fix errors.
  • Another thing that Workforce Now succeeded at was connecting multiple pieces of the same puzzle. For example, one job title may connect to multiple defining factors and when that job was selecting, all of the components would be listed.
  • Workforce Now compartmentalizes the information too much. It was difficult to view multiple pieces of information regarding an employee because you had to toggle between various categories of information: employment information vs. employee information vs. payroll.
  • We had an acquisition occur, and it was very frustrating not being able to have all employees accessible within the same ADP ID and yet still under a different company code/name. This made running company wide reports very difficult and tedious.
  • Another complaint is that while it is great being at able to add customized fields within the tables, when there is an update, all of that information is lost. So it seems to be a useless feature.
  • It has been useful in allowing us to reduce labor costs by managing all functions under one system.
  • A lot of time has been wasted waiting for a representative to answer the phone and help with a case. However, once they do they are very helpful.
  • The relationships that have been built within the validation tables has saved a lot of time in the set up of employees within the system as well as the creation of reports.
At the time, my previous employers had selected ADP Workforce now because we had many companies under our umbrella and the majority had at least had some experience working with ADP in the past. We needed a new system which would consolidate all of the functions into one centralized location, accessible by those whose jobs required it, despite being in different locations. We were also lacking in a HRIS completely and needed something to track information in. ADP Workforce Now met those needs. However, now I am at a different company and we use UltiPro. Overall, the system is far more user friendly. Everything is laid out in a way that seems instinctual. Within UltiPro, you can select different employees to have different level of roles within the system. This drives what they have access to. This enables us to use the homepage to post information we wish the entire company to see, while still maintaining privacy. The report builder is also much more functioning. There are standard reports which are already built, or you can use the Business Intelligence unit and create a report, almost from scratch. This allows us to pick and choose the data we want to analyze, as well as the format and sorting of the report. It then allows us to select which form we want to export it into: PDF, Excel, etc.
Overall the system executes what it is supposed to. It does a fantastic job of keeping all information under one system. However, there are many other systems growing in popularity which offer a similar set up in a much more usable design. For instance, they can be customized much more to the needs of the company, enabling them to manipulate the system to pull the reports and information as necessary.
