Airtable was a great discovery!
Overall Satisfaction with Airtable
We are currently using Airtable to build a digital database of a partner organization's collection of rare letters, scores, incipits, and photographs of the composer Gustav Mahler. This Airtable will be used for internal research on the composer, and we intend for it to serve as the foundation for a digital library, accessible to educators and researchers.
Pros
- Airtable has done a great job of being intuitive and user-friendly.
- Airtable's platform is sleek throughout all of its viewing options.
- The ability to add high-quality attachments to a record is very appealing.
- I love that I can link to other records so readers can have more context.
Cons
- I'd like the option to change Airtable's color pallet and icons to bring them more in line with our foundation's branding.
- I'd love for more tutorials and examples for using Airtable's various functions and layouts.
- Airtable has helped us integrate the archive from a partner organization into our own resources
Airtable was a more affordable, more mobile, and more versatile platform. The options for future integration were greater for us with Airtable; the mobile opportunities give our Foundation flexibility; and since our team is based in several locations, the sharing and cloud storage options were great for us.
