Overall Satisfaction with Atlassian Confluence

Confluence is our central hub, the go-to place for everything. Think of it as our company's collective brain. We're talking about building out internal wikis – everything from company policies and procedures (because who wants to dig through dusty binders?) to best practices, training materials, and those "how-to" guides for all our internal tools. The idea is to empower everyone to find what they need, when they need it, without having to send a million emails or Slack messages. Self-service is the name of the game.

Pros

  • Jira Integration
  • Collaboration made very easy with teammates
  • One stop shop for all knowledge of the company

Cons

  • Scope for doing more live collaboration like google docs.
  • Search functionality is tricky to use and often does not yield best results in the fastest way
  • Mobile view is not that great
  • Increase in dev productivity
  • Increase in ease of finding knowledge or documentation of systems
  • Onboarding time for new employees reduced as there is a central knowledge hub available.
Strengths (Where it shines):
Collaboration features are excellent: Real-time editing, commenting, and @mentions are intuitive and make teamwork seamless.
Organization is generally good: The space and page hierarchy allows for a decent level of organization, making it possible to structure information effectively.Integration with Jira is a huge plus: This is a massive usability win for teams using both platforms. The tight integration makes project management much smoother.

Weaknesses (Where it falls short):
Search can be frustrating: Even with recent improvements, the search function can still be clunky and return irrelevant results. This is a significant usability hurdle.
