Overall Satisfaction with Automox
I use it as a patch management tool for scheduled rollouts and testing. As well as a deployment location for custom loads and configurations.
Pros
- Patch Management
- Software Installation
- Jump Client
- Health Monitoring
Cons
- Reporting of why some things failed can be hard to follow
- Time savings for patch management
- Consolidation of resources
- Real time reporting of critical patches
- Quick integration with other tools for remediation and scans
Consistency of scanning and the location of several third-party software that had not been previously identified. This allowed for a quick remediation of missing patches as well as scans and removal of unwanted software. Coupled with a more directed patch schedule that could be easily maintained and automated through the environment.
- Ivanti Endpoint Manager, Microsoft System Center and Microsoft System Center Operations Manager (SCOM)
Automox was a much simpler to use and more robust patching solution. It handles both Microsoft and third party patches without issue and allows for simple but powerful scripted deployments and planning.

Using Automox
2000 - We are a government organization dealing with direct interactions from the public for permits, licensing, and other aspects. Our use cases for automox are varied throughout a statewide infrastructure.
2 - It is a low impact system that can be configured with almost no background knowledge. There are several more in depth features that can be setup once users have more experience with the product. The hosted trainings as well as the customer support staff are both very helpful in getting this accomplished.
- Server Patching
- Software Deployments
- Endpoint Patching
- Custom registry deployments
- Emergency patching for overdue devices
- Machine Onboarding software deployments.
- Patch compliance.
Evaluating Automox and Competitors
Yes - Ivanti Security Controls.
Platform was not consistent and was hard to use. With increasing price points they were no match for the level of support and effectiveness.

- Cloud Solutions
- Scalability
- Ease of Use
a cloud based solution that removed the need for proprietary black boxes and supported multiple user authentications so that the load could be easily shared between primary and backup users without shared credentials.
I wouldnt. I am very happy with how the eval came out and I have not seen another product that can fill these shoes.
Automox Implementation
- Implemented in-house
Change management was minimal - Simple changes were tracked and the teams notified.
- Fairly seamless transition.
Automox Support

Quick Resolution Good followup Knowledgeable team Problems get solved Kept well informed No escalation required Immediate help available Support understands my problem Support cares about my success Quick Initial Response | None |
I do not have premium support currently. When I started using automox that wasnt part of their offerings. Though for larger deployments I may consider it.
Yes - Ot was resolved well and a new feature was added to make it into a useable piece.
I had a rush order for a large license increase. The support team worked with me to get this done. I found out after the fact that my primary contact who had supported this push and made it happen in record time was actually out of the country on vacation. In a time when I needed the help they responded better than I could have hoped for.
