Overall Satisfaction with Avaya UCaaS
We used Cloud calling solution from Avaya. It was easy to use and setup. Avaya has long history in calling market. We were looking for a cloud calling solution to simplify management and move away from on-prem solution to save on costs and chose Avaya UCaaS based on their history and prowess in calling solutions.
- Calling
- Messaging
- Meeting
- PSTN Connection
- Avaya UCaaS financial stability is an issue in long run
- They are still behind other competitors like MS Teams, Webex calling in chat
- Innovation - they are lacking in this domain and just adding features which other competitors have
- Moving on cloud calling did save us on costs of managing on-prem infra
- Since Avaya UCaaS has its own make phones and gateways it saves on support costs due to multiple vendors
- It lacks many third party integrations available in MS teams, this makes making workflows difficult
Using all collaboration tools from single vendors helps in saving management costs. Also, in case of any issues we don't have to go to multiple vendors to resolve them. Avaya has been a long time champion in on-premise calling and contact center space. Having all solutions including Contact center from same vendor helps and reduces the need of integrations which vendors like Genesys require.
We integrated Avaya UCaaS Calling with Microsoft teams for some offshore sites. Integration took some time but it worked fine after integration was complete. Avaya UCaaS still needs to work on providing more features into the integrated MS Teams.
Do you think Avaya UCaaS delivers good value for the price?

Did Avaya UCaaS live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes
Would you buy Avaya UCaaS again?
No
- Microsoft Teams, Cisco Webex Board Series, Cisco Webex DX80, Cisco Webex Experience Management, Webex App, Zoom Phone, MiVoice Office Application Suite (Mitel Application Suite), Genesys Cloud CX, Slack, RingCentral Contact Center, RingCentral MVP, 8x8 Contact Center, 8x8 X Series, Poly Clariti (RealPresence Clariti), Yealink Conference Phones and AudioCodes Mediant Enterprise Session Border Controllers (E-SBCs)
Apart from Cisco Webex Calling/app no other vendor offers their own phones hardware, gateways. We need to add other vendors like yealink, Poly, Audiocodes to complete the solution. This makes things very difficult from management perspective. As you have to hire a person who can manage a multivendor environment. Also, in case of outage, multiple bridge open and every vendor blame others. Cisco is costly so we gave a chance to Avaya UCaaS based on its history and reputation in Calling market.
