Braze review after 3 months of using it!
Overall Satisfaction with Braze
We use Braze as our core CEP platform, used predominantly by the CRM and Digital Marketing teams. We are still new to Braze, but ultimately we are aiming for Braze to become our single source of truth for all direct communications. With all our Product, service, and marketing messages from this one platform, we can improve our understanding of the full consumer journey and impact we can have.
Pros
- AB testing. It's so easy to create the variables and set the audience split, along with winning paths, we've run a lot more tests in just the past month than a 6 month period with our previous provider.
- Canvas building. While it's a bit confusing at first, I do appreciate there's a way to solve almost any journey we want to create, and it's visually really easy to digest when building.
- Content blocks. Having these built for our core email sections, like headers and footers, have been a real time saver. And we can see the benefits for if we ever need to change a core element, like our logo.
Cons
- Reporting on specific links. It's hard to see how a single CTA performed vs overall engagement.
- The view of live Canvases can be hard to digest with such long sections for each message step. I also need to click through a few times to see the actual creative, making it harder at a glance to remember which path was which.
- Frequency capping rules. We assumed these could be more complex, such as having a hierarchy of delivery based on a tag, vs just a max volume per tag.
AI support in analytics and segmentation has been really useful, helping give further insight and breakdowns of our audience types. We are planning to implement further AI use through the cross-channel selections and STO etc., but as we're still new to Braze, we are building up the data on our users preferences first.
Braze is a vast improvement. A lot of our work in Acoustic was manual, with AB tests even being complicated to create.
Braze is also able to handle our data requirements in a more agile way, allowing us to implement an SDK integration and build a much stronger consumer view.
