Overall Satisfaction with Canva

We use [Canva] for social media graphics, and for a time I used it for photo resizing when Photoshop was unavailable. We also use it for some larger graphics, primarily ones that are sent out through campus communications to our full body of employees. It is managed by our Marketing and Communications department, though there are some employees in other departments who use their own accounts for their own use as well, such as academic heads who create their own newsletters and manage smaller social media groups.
  • Easy for anyone to use
  • No graphic design knowledge needed
  • Saves previous works
  • Generous free storage space
  • Wide variety of templates
  • The only glaring issue I have with Canva is I wish there were a way to crop photos within Canva rather than taking them out into an external program then uploading them again
  • A font finder/matcher would be nice, but not absolutely necessary
  • It would be great to be able to create folders within your saved design space to organize things better
  • Has eliminated the need for monthly and yearly subscriptions to Adobe PhotoShop
  • Has cut down on the time employees spent in Photoshop
  • Has reduced the need to outsource graphic designers
  • Stock images are cheaper than many other websites
Canva is free, and the free-to-use option is extremely generous and fills many needs across our company. We have not even had to consider upgrading to a paid option because everything we already need is right there. The learning curve is also great, unlike Photoshop in particular which is overwhelming to anyone without a base in graphic design.

Canva is fantastic at making social media graphics, with templates available for Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. It has all but eliminated the use of Photoshop and makes things so much faster. It's easy to upload photos, fonts, logos, etc. and use them with preexisting templates. It has suited every need we have used it for thus far and also provides additional options for many things that we haven't had the need for.
