Novices rejoice!
Overall Satisfaction with Canva
Canva is used by our content team to develop professional-grade graphics for digital platforms quickly and efficiently. It is a great way to ensure quality and proper sizing for various channels. For longer-term projects we often use custom-designed graphics, but for getting the word out quickly, Canva is a great solution.
Pros
- Automatic sizing for different social channels
- Grids to guide novice designers
- Ability to upload fonts and images to personalize your designs
Cons
- It's easy to over-estimate your design ability
- UI is a little...cluttered
- Ability to upload brand assets
- Appropriate, channel-specific sizing and templating
- Cost
- Ability to disseminate info quickly, especially in a pandemic
- Ability to have multiple people view and sign off on work before it publishes
- Help for novice designers
As far as I can tell, Canva is pretty unique in its offerings. More robust design platforms can do the same things, of course (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.)...and we use those too. But for a quick-turn project to be used by multiple people with no formal design training, Canva is a great bet.
