Cisco AnyConnect actual use cases
Overall Satisfaction with Cisco AnyConnect
Using for highly secured network login and production related database activities. We use it for login RDP which is publicly not exposed. We used for Server related activities where we stored our highly secured data! Even if we need to access organization level access then it's mandatory to use the Cisco AnyConnect VPN. For work from home, it's highly recommended to use Cisco AnyConnect network!
Pros
- Secured Production URLS
- Private VPN and server access
- Authorization for SSO
- Securing and filtering data and URLs
Cons
- Many times OPT not accepting issues
- It does not store or support password store
- With slow network it's not working properly. Connection related issues
- Hard alert boxes
- For Enter button it's not working. Many time cancel the typed form
- Able to access prod URL as secured.
- Able to access more fast way for RDPA.
- Many times OTP attempts it's not accepting. Very frustrating!
- Every times need to type password which is already complex!
Definitely my org is using many applications and benefits but still there is a lot more issues which is Cisco AnyConnect needs to handle. Even they don't have hypercare or a dedicated team to observe the issues. I am using Cisco VPN since 4 years but still I am facing OTP not accepting issues. We use this VPN for prod URL and RDP networks and for SSO also!
Currently, my org is using this default VPN, and we are using the same, but still, we noticed many features are good as compared with other VPN tools. Overall speed is pretty good and hence performance is good. There are other issues, like many times the login is not working correctly, and I have to restart my laptop if I am in the middle of urgent work!
