Overall Satisfaction with Webex App

My company has used the many different iterations of Cisco's desktop IM client. I currently use it daily on a Mac. It is available company-wide but I only find about 25% of my coworkers online on Webex Teams. I mostly use it to speak with Cisco directly as well as participate in Meeting Rooms.
  • Mac Designed and User Friendly
  • Easy to perform basic tasks
  • Familiar UI as previous editions
  • Finding some of the advanced features was cumberson if you didn't know how/where to look
  • Not as highly integrated as the main competition (MSFT)
  • It definitely works as advetised for most of what you expect out of Instant Messaging and Presence
  • It has great Webex integrations for meetings/videos
  • It has great integrations with CIsco UC/CUCM and Cloud options
  • Easily connects to Cisco devices and will prompt you when close using the proximity feature
It's an option vs. mandatory to use the Webex app but given our close partnership w/ Cisco I would say approximately half of our 10,000 users.
  • Cisco Unified Communications Manager
  • Cisco Webex Meeting Devices (VCS Devices, DX80, etc.)
It's fully integrated and not difficult.
I still actually use both MS/Cisco Teams daily. I've been doing so long it almost feels natural and I mostly have muscle memory as to which contacts are on which platform. Teams between Cisco and MSFT have a similar look and feel but you definitely notice a much tighter integration with the OS and obviously Microsofts other products such as SharePoint and Outlook/Office products. It also has many, many more 3rd party integrations ranging from free to low cost to enterprise-wide services like CRM's. No point in mentioning Jabber as that is EoL as Cisco Teams is the direct replacement.

Do you think Webex App delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Webex App's feature set?

Yes

Did Webex App live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Webex App go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Webex App again?

Yes

If you are an all Cisco shop this definitely makes sense however, even that justification is becoming lesser and lesser. Pricing would be another use case as it can be bundled in with all of your other Cisco products and services. Obviously the ability to speak directly to Cisco and participate in their Webex Teams Rooms is great. The situation that I'm currently in is using both MS Teams for internal communications and then Webex Teams for some external communications w/ Cisco and Customers.

Webex App Support

Just like any other Cisco product, it is (mostly) well documented and supported. In my career, I've never had Cisco TAC fail to resolve a case. It may not resolve the way I prefer but it does find a resolution.

Using Webex App

Usability wise it is pretty self explanatory given previous experience using IM&P products. Some light training or a VOD would suffice to walk you through the major features and functionality and then some focused attention on any specific or narrow use cases that you find useful or collaborative.
