Overall Satisfaction with ClickUp
All of the team uses ClickUp to manage projects through tracking of tasks and dependencies. We use the output of this for reporting to senior leaders in the business. Because we use it as a web app anyone can update the plan and we can give guests access to our clients so they can get a real-time view of progress without waiting for an update report. The problem it addresses is getting a good visual output, which manual plans cannot do, but without the over-featured competitors.
- Simple to use
- Great visual output
- Easy to share
- Fast start on project planning
- The implementation of dependencies could be better
- Display the timeline of subtasks on the main task (Gantt Charts)
- Subtasks as milestones to show in the Milestone filter
- Quicker to set up projects as compared to manual methods
- Easier to report and adjust project durations
- Better tracking of action updates
The management of projects has been far more collaborative by all of the team being able to update the project. This ability extends outside of our organisation to the clients; which is also useful in letting the client have input, update tasks, and self-serve on reporting progress. Being web-based just helps to integrate all of this into a seamless workflow.
I don't think we are making full use of ClickUp and the integrations so we might not be realising the full efficiency available.
I tried Notion and Monday, and neither had the features of ClickUp or the simplicity of use to get up and running quickly. Notion is great looking and very broad in its abilities but this is potentially a weakness as it is too broad. Monday felt too focussed on software project management so was conversely too specialised in my opinion. ClickUp wins by being adaptable enough to be used in many situations.
