Overall Satisfaction with ClickUp
We primarily use ClickUp to manage our projects. Each individual project typically involves 3 teams, each of whom is responsible for a different part. Each team has a product manager that needs to review the output while an account manager per project manages the overall flow. We use ClickUp to make sure everyone is on the same page.
- We have a log of what was done per task.
- We are able to search archived tasks.
- We're able to quickly see the status of each task.
- We're able to organize tasks per billing invoice per client.
- We're able to customize it to exactly follow our workflow.
- Stability. It occasionally goes down which is frustrating.
- It sometimes is really slow to refresh - such as when duplicating tasks.
- It takes a while to get notifications set up to a level that is usable but not overwhelming.
- We were very fortunate that we implemented ClickUp in mid-2019 as at that time we were a 100% work at office company. The pandemic forced us all to remote for 15 months. If we did not have ClickUp up and running at that time, I do not know how we would have managed.
- We are now able to have a history that is searchable for all of the projects/tasks we have done which is very useful. Our business has a lot of repeat customers that come back for revisions.
- Our account managers are able to easily check the status of projects without having to talk directly with the project managers.
- One fear is if ClickUp went down (there have been times when it was not working) as we have stored all of are data there.
Collaboration has improved multi-fold as everyone is in ClickUp and on the same page as far as projects go. We also use it or one-off tracking of certain items. It's enabled us to track and disseminate information easily. We also integrate with Slack as a backup alert system. We love the ability to change project statuses directly from Slack.
We haven't reduced our productivity apps so much as linked them all together. We still rely heavily on Slack and Google Sheets, but we reference everything within ClickUp. We also used ClickUp docs but there are just some calculation-heavy functions we need that only Google Sheets can handle.
There are probably other products that we evaluated that I can't remember anymore. We liked Airtable a lot, but it was cost prohibitive. ClickUp was the only one where one division could use list view and another division could use board view. In the end, ClickUp checked off all the items we needed and was affordable.
