Overall Satisfaction with Cloudflare

We use Cloudflare's suite of products across multiple web properties for various departments, joint ventures, and business units that we manage. After discovering their Workers serverless product and the general availability of Cloudflare Pages, we started putting more and more of our web properties and domains onto Cloudflare's DNS. It made DNS management so much easier while having more and more of our static sites on Pages also made site management easier. Add in features like Rules and built-in DDoS protection and it really is a compelling one-stop-shop for managing the DNS, routing, and static site hosting needs of our units.
  • Many features included.
  • Ease of use.
  • Fast propagation.
  • Value for money.
  • Pages build times.
  • More competitive registrar pricing.
  • Better testing tools for workers.
  • Quality of life - making management easier.
  • Save cost with very competitive pricing.
  • Enable DDoS protection for very cheap.
Cloudflare provides "beginner-friendly" DNS services at prices that are very competitive for firms like ours that don't have enterprise-level workloads and spend. Using Cloudflare's services is much more straightforward and simple than the competition, yet advanced functionality and capability can be availed of when the need arises. It's a perfect mixture of being feature-rich and capable while maintaining simplicity and straightforwardness and having very competitive pricing.
Onboarding domains to Cloudflare, as well as availing of their other products, is very easy and straightforward. Their wizard is helpful and informative. There were some instances wherein the wizard errored out, particularly with failing to identify newly-registered domains as registered; and one of the more annoying aspects is the amount of time before the nameservers fully propagate to point to Cloudflare's — although those may be the fault of the registrar.
I (fortunately) have not encountered an issue I deemed severe enough to require me to submit a ticket to support. Most of the time, the problems I have encountered were fixable by simply waiting (as is usual with DNS services); or Googling and perusing their perfectly serviceable documentation and browsing support forums.

We found Cloudflare to be very well-suited for small businesses like ours, who need a cost-effective way of managing web properties. It is best at the simple static site hosting through Pages, paired with DNS management for the domains, with all the other features like DDoS protection and Routes as very welcome bonuses. The benefits are more so if there are multiple properties/domains to be managed, as the UI design makes it easy to manage multiple properties.
