Overall Satisfaction with Deputy

Deputy is being used by our cleaners, gardeners and support workers for knowing their roster to go into homes to do their shift. Our whole organisation uses it and I use it to chat and approve timesheets for invoicing.
  • Publishes rosters at my chosen time.
  • Accessible and useable on laptop and phone.
  • Shows enough information for staff to know what's expected.
  • Adds up weekly shift hours for each staff member.
  • Doesn't always stay logged in.
  • Doesn't easily edit shift to move to another day.
  • A bit clunky with copy and pasting shifts.
  • Not easy to click on a shift without it doing something else weird.
  • Can't delete shift areas when no longer needed.
  • Definitely saved time from working off a spreadsheet ( a few hours a week initially).
  • It's saved a lot of messaging between staff and client to work out a shift time.
  • It's records staff unavailability which also helps for faster scheduling.
  • Because timesheets have to be approved, it makes invoicing easy too for better accuracy.
  • The timesheets are also compared to their Xero timesheets for better accuracy too.
It's soooo much better than Excel because that is a lot of manual work and it doesn't do anything automatically or communicate with staff.

Would you buy Deputy again?

Yes

It's really easy to use but there's more it could do that would make it even better especially when there are glitches in moving shifts or opening them and they don't update or refresh as they should. Just little bugs. It would be great if it could send automatic messages to our clients to let them know they have a staff member coming to their home tomorrow. It's not especially made for domestic jobs but that element would help make it even better.
I don't remember the implementation process very well but inviting new staff to start using it is very easy to do.
Deputy is well suited to organizations where a person is allocated to a particular area. You can add or delete staff easily and you can add shift areas well too (just not easily delete them when not used anymore). It's great for staff to see their roster and changes to their roster on their phone at any time of day. Notifications are sent to email each time also to alert of changes to the roster. Timesheets come in and show the actual time they worked but can be edited if they forgot to sign in. All timesheets need to be approved which means they get checked too.
