Overall Satisfaction with Dropbox

We use it to backup all of our creative assets, including raw video files and photos, but also to deliver final produced create files to our clients. It helps us maintain a remote and collaborative work environment among our team, and has become indispensable in the operation of our business.

Pros

  • File sharing
  • Remote access
  • Hard drive space management

Cons

  • Per-user add-on licensing (ie, Replay only for specific users)
  • Native support for NAS sync
  • Control of default expiration date on Transfer
  • Server restoration
  • Wide area collaboration
  • Client review
Google Drive's interface is slow and clunky. Downloads take forever just to zip before you can download, and they unreliably tend to fail. Wasabi didn't seem trustworthy, and the price was too good to be true. Amazon was unintuitive and was going to require too much of a learning curve to back our files up.

Do you think Dropbox delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Dropbox's feature set?

Yes

Did Dropbox live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Dropbox go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Dropbox again?

Yes

We use Dropbox to backup every single one of our video files. We do a lot of post-production work, and this allows us to easily ship our raw files from editor to colorizer. The sync is the fastest I've experienced, and the downloads are way easier than Google Drive. Can't imagine a scenario where Dropbox wouldn't be the superior collaborative shared storage environment.
