Overall Satisfaction with Dropbox

I work remotely with a marketing team that is remote and hybrid around the country. Dropbox enables us to collaborate in real-time and know that all our projects, assets, and other digital data are safely stored, synchronized, and always ready to be utilized in our production process.

Pros

  • Live synchronization of digital assets.
  • Incredibly fast upload/download speeds.
  • Seamless integration into local folder structure.

Cons

  • Giving access to files is clunky.
  • Choosing what to store locally is a long process and non-intuitive.
  • Saved us tens (hundreds?) of hours over trying to wrestle with Adobe's asset storage.
  • We have empowered other staff by quickly and easily sharing digital assets with them.
  • Quickly and easily collecting event photos and videos from hundreds of users for an event to quickly make an impactful end-of-event video.
Dropbox is more reliable and consistent than anything else. I know that Dropbox will still work no matter what I use. I also know that if I need to move away from Dropbox, it will be an easy transition.

My coworker and I regularly work on projects simultaneously. One of us will have a document open in InDesign, and the other may be building assets in Photoshop or Illustrator. With Dropbox, as soon as an asset is done, it is available for the other person to embed. We prefer Dropbox to Adobe's Cloud storage because Adobe makes moving files between accounts and locations incredibly challenging, if not impossible. Dropbox makes it easy and reliable.
