Overall Satisfaction with Dropbox
I am a videographer for the company that owns a Dropbox subscription. All of the content I create is backed up onto our company account. In the past, I have used hard drives to save footage and project files, but we can film hundreds of gigabytes sometimes in a single day. Over weeks and months, that adds up quickly. Knowing that all my projects and content are stored in the cloud offers me peace of mind. I can always rely on my work being saved, and we don't risk losing everything over a drive being corrupted.
Pros
- Find files.
- Upload quickly.
- Preview files.
Cons
- The desktop app is confusing.
- Auto backup isn't always helpful.
- It feels like its out of sync with the organization on the web app.
- Saves time when sharing content.
- Helps connect remote coworkers on projects.
- Ease of mind knowing files are safe on cloud.
I've never paid for Google Drive, but I can tell you it's so much easier to collaborate with others and share files. That is one of the main things that i feel like has been helpful to be and is something that I would recommend others in the content creating industry use as it is vey helpful.
