Overall Satisfaction with Expensify

We use Expensify for our company-wide expense process. It's very easy and intuitive to upload your expenses and then submit them for approval. All employees can use it because there are a variety of different expenses to submit for (e.g. travel, home office) and it never takes more than a few minutes to get it taken care of. Because it's easy to use, my expenses are usually approved within 1-2 days, but sometimes even faster than that!

Pros

  • Can scan receipts automatically so you don't have to enter the details manually
  • The approval workflow is automated so you don't have to determine the appropriate person to send it to
  • It generates reports automatically so you can quickly submit reports
  • Lots of customizable fields so each organization can track relevant information

Cons

  • If there are recurring expenses that can be submitted, email reminders would be awesome!
  • If there are caps for certain types of expenses within the org, calling that out somewhere would be helpful so I don't have to double check the policy in another place
  • There are certain times when I need to submit info on an expense that doesn't have a $ amount associated with it (e.g. comparing the cost of a booked flight to alternatives to demonstrate cost savings) and it'd be nice if there's an easier way to include that

I find it very easy to use. I've never had an actual Expensify 'training' and I've been able to use it to the extend I need to. I find it easy to navigate and the receipt scanning and automated report generator take a lot of the work out of my hands so I primarily just need to fill out some custom fields and review the information.
I've found Expensify much easier to use. The UI/UX is more pleasing and intuitive. Even though I've used Paycor for expense management when I've used it for other things, I much preferred having Expensify as a separate system because of its ease of use.

I've used Expensify at multiple organizations and I've found it helpful. It's only been at orgs on the smaller side (<200 people) so I can't speak to the experience at a much larger org.
