Overall Satisfaction with Gong

Gong allows leadership visibility into Sales calls for coaching purposes where there was limited information before. The team enjoys the automatic recording and notetaker for summaries, allowing them to more intently listen to their prospects and address their pain points.
Leadership can more effectively coach the team by segmenting calls into streams by keywords, topics, and call titles to more effectively coach on some of the difficult points our reps face in their calls, specifically around competitors and pricing.

It's extremely intuitive from an operational perspective, and it's easy to set up for improved leadership visibility regarding coaching opportunities. The sales leadership struggled previously to see what the team was doing on calls and how it was positively or negatively impacting deals, so the tool gives leadership easier insight to not only different kinds of calls via streams, but the highlights of those calls as called out by the intelligence component.
It has definitely provided actionable insights as we've been working on understanding how reps approach different calls related to different pipeline stages. It allows us to see very clearly what's happening and how we can improve the reps' abilities to successfully move the needle with the most critical opportunities in their pipeline.
We haven't looked much into the market insights at the moment as it's not a mission critical use case for us right now, however, I assume it will be extremely useful as the reps look for more content and insights around better follow ups and the trends they need to address to successfully upsell their customers.
  • Outreach
In my opinion, Gong outshines Outreach when it comes to conversation intelligence. The summaries are more detailed, the conversational speaker intelligence is more accurate, and the ability to sort calls into specific streams has more functionality than Outreach has exhibited over the last 2 years we've used it. It remains our sequencing tool, but for call recording, this is our key technology.

Gong is well-suited for busy teams who spend their days on calls and don't have all the time in the world to add information back into the crm or generate follow-up tasks. It's also great for Sales leadership and Operations teams looking for detailed analysis of calls including wins, areas of improvement, and relationship to forecasting.
It's less appropriate for teams just looking for a call recording platform. It's so much more than this.
