Overall Satisfaction with GoToMeeting
Having many account teams that service a wide range of clients, we use GoToMeeting regularly for standing client conference calls and for one-off meetings that require attendance by people in disparate locations. It's particularly helpful when we need to arrange a meeting where screens need to be shared.
Pros
- Connects participants in a wide range of locations.
- Offers web-based participation as well as dial-in options for those not in front of their computers.
Cons
- This functionality may exist, and I may be missing the knowledge, but it would be helpful to be able to direct-message another meeting participant. If it does exist, I would recommend making it easier to find.
- We have experienced a net positive impact in terms of efficiency.
- The subscription cost is higher than for competing products, but we've found it to be a worthwhile investment.
- Slack, Google Hangouts, Cisco Webex Meetings, Skype for Business (formerly Lync), Zoom and BlueJeans
GoToMeeting is the gold standard when it comes to overall value and connection quality. Others, such as Slack and Google Hangouts, require other users to have accounts and be existing users (and even then, there are limitations in terms of connecting various groups). The connection quality I've experienced with Skype and Zoom left much to be desired.
