Overall Satisfaction with Heap

Heap is the key system tracking user behavioral data, it helps us track how users land, create and grow inside our product, the ability to dump this data and merge it with other functional data in the back end really serves as a full picture on user behaviour and intent to improve our product.
  • User Behaviour Tracking
  • Account Origin
  • Button Placement
  • A/b Testing and Growth Experiments
  • Very Steep Learning Curve
  • Without Data Governance it Can Get Noisy
  • Very Easy for Devs to Corrupt the Data
  • Increase conversion Rate
  • Better retention for current users
  • Understanding of campaign performance (Experimentation)
The learning curve is very steep and setting up Heap correctly in the first place is super important, having a data governance model is [a] key to prevent incorrect data from being injected into the systems, if Heap is implemented without this any developer can create tracking data that impacts directly the models being created from Heap.
Heap doesn't affect page load times considerably nor has a large impact [on] our overall score, as far as page loading times inside of the tool its pretty reliable to retrieve data as much as "instant" that it can be the delay seems to be on data getting tracked into the servers to be read but it's not significant.
Heap is cheaper than segment and performs in a similar matter, the time to implement and destinations plus flexibility is considerably different so both options are valid depending on the priorities of the enterprise and set up.

Do you think Heap delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Heap's feature set?

Yes

Did Heap live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Heap go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Heap again?

Yes

In scenarios where the user data can be highly controlled, or private by code it is very easy to inject personal data or corrupt the data and the integrations with other systems, when implementing Heap its important to design a data governance model to reduce the noise to other experiments, it's better to use on a pure product placement tracking environment.
