Overall Satisfaction with HipChat

Most of our IT departments use HipChat. We also have a few admin departments using the rooms feature. We are able to communicate on the fly in real time, see who is available at the time and eliminate mass emails. We also use the one on one chat.
  • Using the rooms for a dept is the best feature- you can lock rooms off as private or have open rooms for anyone to join.
  • The emojis are pretty cool.
  • They should add the feature to be able to chat to 2 people in one conversation.
  • The last update has been very buggy- Kept crashing. Hipchat was fine until this update..
  • Search feature used to work great but now it has not been working properly.
  • It increases efficiency by being able to get a hold of another member.
HipChat is great for IT departments, and real time updates especially when we have our SOS moments.

Using HipChat

100 - IT departments and Compliance Desk review department
1 - Basic software knowledge
  • We host a private room for our help desk to discuss ongoing issues.
  • One on one chats with other techs and IT depts.
  • Use on mobile devices when we do not have access to our PCs.
  • Using the mobile device when our internet or PCs are inaccessible.
  • Adding more people to rooms for other departments, will cut down on single email discussions on topics.
If they fix the bugs the last update gave that are causing hipchat to crash more often.

Didn't handle it but heard it went very smooth for setup

Never had to use support except for setup.
Yes - it was during an update and they came out with a new release shortly after.

Could add some items like dual chats with 2 or more besides using a full room.
