Overall Satisfaction with Hootsuite

We use Hootsuite to schedule social media posts for Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter on a regular basis. It has a useful scheduling tool that allows us to deliver marketing messages and other important updates regarding company events and whatnot. It is used by some parts of our organization, but not all.

Pros

  • Scheduling messages.
  • Suggesting dates/times for message posting.
  • Integrating with social media platforms.

Cons

  • The cost feels high for the resources provided.
  • The UI could be improved.
  • Instagram utility feels tacked on compared to other social media platforms.
  • Advertising efficiency.
  • Time and effort.
  • Analyzing content engagement.
Hootsuite was a more effective social media management platform than Sprout Social, which felt less comprehensive at a similar price point. Hootsuite also has some excellent tools that were not widely available on many of the other competitors despite the competitors being similar in cost. I would recommend Hootsuite over Sprout Social and many of the other major platforms.
Hootsuite has a plethora of resources available to you to help you learn how to use the platform. There are also other opportunities to learn about Hootsuite on YouTube and other websites that can be quite useful as well. I have not used customer support at Hootsuite, though, so I cannot speak to their team.

Hootsuite is excellent for those people that want to schedule social media postings ahead of time for their work on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter pages. Hootsuite is less appropriate for those people who are concerned about hiring a platform to create content for them. Hootsuite is best used as a platform for publishing your own original content, but you'll have to think of the content yourself.
