Overall Satisfaction with KnowBe4 Security Awareness Training

Our company uses KnowBe4 for annual Security Awareness Training for all employees and contractors. We plan to conduct more frequent training as well. We utilize Phishing Campaigns to determine if our employees are being vigilant when receiving emails.
  • The console is extremely user-friendly.
  • The training modules are very engaging and interactive.
  • Email templates are customizable.
  • Technical Support responds quickly and thoroughly.
  • Ability to send out reminders to users and managers is a great feature.
  • I'd like to see more areas of regulatory compliance be added to the ModStore (such as 26 US Code 7216 (use and disclosure of tax return information).
  • I'd like to have more "Point of Failure" training modules added to Phishing Email Templates.
  • There should be more training modules with quizzes and would like the option to add my own questions.
  • It would be nice to be able to add my own content using formats outside of SCORM and video.
  • I'd love to see more robust Privacy training modules.
  • The training and policy acknowledgments reports should be customizable. For example, I may only want to see results from 1 policy acknowledgment but the report will show all policies within the campaign which is not what is needed.
  • Since launching the first PST, out phishing failure rate has decreased by approximately 3%.
  • Employees are 50% more engaged/interested in security since using KB4.
Webroot was a challenge to use. I signed up for a free trial but had to jump through hoops to actually get access. KnowBe4's pricing was much better.

Fresh training content helps with user engagement and actually makes users want to take security training. Security Awareness Training is not typically considered "fun" but KnowBe4 makes it as "fun" as possible with the graphics and available gamification options. Different content publishers also provide for diversity and inclusion as we have employees from all over the country.
In order to provision our new users to the KnowBe4 platform, our organization uses Active Directory Integration with SCIM provisioning. We also have Single-Sign-On which makes it easy for our users to access training. We receive updated provisioning records multiple times a day. This has actually helped us internally with ensuring that all new individuals with access to our network are required to take training.
The training completion reporting is one of the most important reporting features to our organization. That said, the report center should offer more customization of what we would actually like to see. The Phishing Campaign metrics, including the total number and percentage of "clicks" and/or data entry are extremely important. Phishing stats are reviewed by our BoD.

KnowBe4 is a very useful tool for companies of all sizes, no matter the industry. The Security Awareness Training content seems to be updated regularly and there are many options to choose from. The console is very user-friendly and intuitive, which makes training our users very easy. While I like the idea of the ASAP tool, it can be a bit overwhelming to keep up with the timeline. Overall, KnowBe4 is an excellent platform.

Using KnowBe4 Security Awareness Training

700 - All new hires/ employees are required to complete Security Awareness Training via KnowBe4 within 7 days of their hire date. Consultants, contractors and/ or other individuals who will have access to our organization's network are required to complete Security Awareness Training prior to being granted access. Additionally, all users are required to take Security Awareness Training annually.
3 - We have several Administrators of our account but only approximately 3 actively participate in supporting the training enrollments and phishing campaigns. No special skills are required - the users who support the platform and use it regularly should be able to understand user provisioning but no other crazy skills or expertise is needed.

I would love to renew our organization's use of KnowBe4 Security Awareness Training. That said, the decision is not mine to make as our organization is now under a new parent umbrella and it's possible senior management will want to use a platform they are already familiar with and/or think is better for our use case.

I was really interested in finding a platform that was able to eliminate some of the manual work we have to do for our Security Awareness Training programs. While we are not fully automated with KnowBe4, that is due to the way in which new employees are onboarded internally. The user provisioning allows us to stay proactive with user access.
I think I would ask more questions of our Sales Rep. The one thing I was not too thrilled about was the SCORM compliant requirement of uploaded content. Our Sales Rep told us we could upload any kind of content and turn it into a training. I found out after purchase, that is not entirely true as there is no functionality to upload powerpoints as training content.

While I am not one hundred percent certain, I do not believe we purchased premium support for Security Awareness Training. KnowBe4 offered to help set up our user provisioning without a premium support purchase, and honestly not even sure what is included in the premium support package. I don't see a need for premium support at this time.
Last year, we noticed in our KnowBe4 console that users were being deleted or overwritten (for lack of better terms). One of the support agents spent a ton of time, on multiple occasions, meeting with our Admins and business users, as well as our internal technology team. The agent was exceptional and actually helped us determine the issue was internal within our Active Directory. Not only was he knowledgeable, he was friendly and beyond patient!
I have always received timely support when contacting KnowBe4 for support with Security Awareness Training. The agents are always friendly and patient. And if they cannot assist due to the issue being a more technical problem, the agents seem to be trained on proper escalation. Instead of wasting my time on something they cannot solve, they have always escalated so I didn't have to wait longer.

  • The layout at the top is very user-friendly and easy to navigate.
  • Setting up new training campaigns is very easy to do as all details needed are well explained.
  • The ModStore has great filtering options making it quick to find what you're looking for.
  • When sending out campaigns with high volume of recipients, there is a delay. This is not a huge problem but its unclear how long it will take for all to receive. More insight into this would be great.
  • The Reports functionality could use a major upgrade. They are not easy to use at all and cannot be modified to fit my organizations needs.
