Knowbe4 is a great training tool
Overall Satisfaction with KnowBe4 Security Awareness Training
We currently use Knowbe4 as our security awareness educational tool. Phishing is a huge problem everywhere so having a tool like Knowbe4 as it help prepare staff to be on the lookout for suspicious emails that they come across on a daily basis. I currently am the administrator for our knowbe4 so I use it to setup phishing campains which includes training modules.
Pros
- Setup and run phishing simulation email campains
- Provides a useful dashboard with access to detailed metrics of the users.
- Has a large catalog of training modules that you can assign.
Cons
- The simulated emails are sometimes a little repetitive
- The trainings aren't as robust as they could be
- Not very good at identifying who they are and how they are affiliated with us when someone clicks on a phishing simulation email.
- Providing security training helps us prevent being hit with ransomwware
- It helps lower our cyber security insurance premiums
- It provides some piece of mind to c-suite
Proofpoint has a more streamlined product that tries to do to many things where Knowbe4 is a more specialized tool focusing on security awareness training without all the other IT tools and data. It's like they say you can be a jack of all trades but a master at none. Knowbe4 is a master at its core focus.

It gives us many prospectives and viewpoints on cyber security allowing us to chose training modules that more closely align with the companies cyber security initiatives and goals. It gives us our own voice by allowing us to tailor the training to fit our workplace culture and be appropriate for the technical skill of our users.
With Active Directory integration our users get imported into our Knowbe4 console which we access via a web browser. From there Knowbe4 gives you tons of options on managing users. You can assign them to groups or do targeted campaigns for specified users. The best part is that it gives a very detailed breakdown of each user and assigns them a score to show how risky of a user they are.
The reporting section is Knowbe4's biggest strength. It categorizes users based on risk level and how likely they are to click on suspicious links which allows you to mitigate the danger to the organization by providing more training to the user so they can learn from the simulation and hopefully not the real thing.
