Overall Satisfaction with LastPass for Business

We have teams of people spread out around the world and some departments use the same tools that share the same password. LastPass for Business allows us to easily and securely create passwords that are being shared across departments. We established a process when creating a new credential that forces our team members to use the "auto-generated" password option within LastPass so we avoid any random "12345" less secure passwords.
  • Store password
  • Generate more secure passwords
  • Share passwords across departments
  • Chrome extension
  • Random log outs
  • Android app had issues
  • Peace of mind
  • Affordable security improvement
  • Support (team) struggled to help.
They offer similar capabilities, but LastPass for Business had a cleaner UI and was more user-friendly. Both of them struggled a little bit with customer service, but I'd say Lastpass has a slight edge on that as well. Also, Bitwarden made it very difficult sometimes to log back in, which was not great because I had to look around for the master password.
Our team has increased a lot since I started in the company and also expanded to new countries and cities. So, naturally, as more people come on board and need to access our systems, we need a more secure password storage solution. Lastpass solved that by providing a vault and a way to control passwords being used.

This is probably where LastPass struggles the most. We have an issue with sharing passwords at the beginning of implementation and the solution wasn't provided until two or three days after the issue was reported. No compensation was provided because of this. The good thing is that I didn't have any issues after that.

Well suited for:

  1. If you have a need to share passwords across departments, this will do the trick.
  2. Auto-generate password is great and convenient.
  3. Having access to all your stored passwords across multiple devices is awesome.
Not well suited for:
  1. Smaller companies could use Chrome password manager and they should be fine.
  2. The android app could use improvement.
