Overall Satisfaction with LogicMonitor

We are a managed services IT staff and use LogicMonitor to support our clients and our own infrastructure. We sell monitoring as a service and Logic Monitor serves a critical role in that service. It helps us monitor everything from Network infrastructure to Windows/Linux Servers to Cloud Resources like AWS and Azure.

  • Customizable alerts thresholds and Escalation Chains that work well.
  • Website Monitoring is very robust.
  • Supports Modern Authentication options.
  • Customizable Customer access for Managed Service Providers.
  • Reporting is somewhat difficult to work with to get what you need.
  • Most scripting options requires learning Groovy (might be a pro for some).
  • Web UI can sometimes require refreshing for changes to show up which can be annoying.
  • Improves Ops Team processes out of the box.
  • Broad support for tech vendors out of the box.
  • Shortens root cause troubleshooting which improves SLAs.
LogicMonitor is the most stable and reliable monitoring solution I have worked with. Being a SaaS product is a leg up on most solutions like SolarWinds which does not offer a clear cloud offering. Would recommend LogicMonitor over all over products I have used to monitor websites, network infrastructure, operating systems, storage devices, and cloud resources. Reporting could be better but passable.
Support is very prompt and helpful. They resolved an issue I had with one email submission and 30 minute Zoom call for an issue that was somewhat complex regarding VMware Horizon. Community support is also good but isn't as mature as other vendors in this space. Built in help and documentation is excellent.
We are monitoring infrastructure all over the world, on-premise, in the cloud (both private and public), and around the clock. The number of monitored nodes are in the several thousands.
LogicMonitor was very simple to start monitoring infrastructure. If it is on premise, the deployment of the collector is fairly simple and once it starts communicating with your SaaS instances its ready to add nodes to monitor. The collector can detect all available resources to monitor with a few service account deployments.
LogicMonitor became the center piece to our Ops team and is mission critical to our success.

Bulletproof monitoring when implemented properly. Always accurate and timely. Making changes to the out of the box settings is easy enough and can be rolled out how you like in terms of thresholds, alerts, and communications. Very broad native monitoring vendor support. Others can be implements without much fuss. Support is very helpful and prompt.
