Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Mailchimp was used to distribute marketing emails and materials to customers. These emails contained weekly specials and photos of merchandise and sample products. Previously we had relied on print ads and signage in order to convey marketing updates and Mailchimp allowed us to reach a broader audience and see an increase in engagement.

Alternatives Considered

Mailchimp was recommended to us by a colleague who had experience with it when we were discussing additional marketing opportunities. We had not considered any other email marketing tools and have not researched any other companies since we have started using Mailchimp as there has not been a need to.

Usability

Mailchimp is very easy to use for someone who is not tech-savvy or even well versed in marketing. Its templates provide a great starting point for users to create well-designed emails with minimal effort but occasionally these templates can be a little restricting if you have more knowledge in the email marketing space.

All-in-One Marketing Platform

We have really only used Mailchimp for its email marketing capabilities. It has been helpful that Mailchimp can store and manage email lists that allow creating and sending campaigns quickly and efficiently. Also, the metric tracking functionality helps to provide users with information into which campaigns are creating the most customer engagement.

Lessons for Success

The successes we have had with Mailchimp has been being able to reach a larger audience with our marketing campaigns via email. While also generating more customer engagement with sales and promotions through enticing emails and being able to schedule campaigns to be delivered at times that promote customer engagement.

Mailchimp is a great tool that allows users with little to no experience to create marketing content that looks professional and eye-catching. Templates allow users to essentially drag and drop content while distribution lists allow users to select their target audience. Users who are more tech-savvy might find Mailchimp a little restricting but all in all, it’s a great product that serves its purpose.
