Overall Satisfaction with Microsoft Teams
Microsoft Teams is being used as our main communication tool across our organization. We have a great number of teams within MS Teams, structurally organized for better visibility. It is mostly being used for written communication instead of voice. We use it for knowledge based purposes as well, since every team has its own dedicated Wiki and SharePoint page, which can be really useful for large teams, to share guidelines and tutorials.
- Mentioning users or group of users with "@" sign.
- Notifications about mentions and important messages.
- Multiple teams support.
- Scheduling within the MS teams.
- Performance wise, Microsoft Teams has tendencies of running slow sometimes, especially if you are in a chat with a great number of participants.
- No easy way to create a new group chat, other than creating a new Team.
- Positive return of investment would be quick migration from Skype for Business to the MS teams, as it uses current O365 user groups.
- Another positive impact would be increased productivity as teams are divided and have their own team chats where the focus on important things is not lost.
- Slack and Skype for Business (formerly Lync)
As the youngest product in MS family, MS Teams is trying their best to implement all the new features, such as:
- Mentioning (People & Teams - with "@" sign
- Gif, emoji, memes, etc.
- Ability to view documents within the software itself without having to open that particular software viewer. (Excel, Word, PDF)
