Overall Satisfaction with Microsoft Teams
We use Teams to meet with customers for remote training using video and screen sharing. We also use chat to communicate with parts of our larger company in other regions. The screen-sharing/video portion works okay, but the tools for sharing control of a computer could be better. The chat functionality is far inferior to Slack.
Pros
- Integrates with outlook for sharing invites.
- Reminders of meeting times.
- Recording of meeting.
Cons
- Chat: Some channels can have threads. Others cannot. No reason why.
- When sharing screen, the window with attendees video minimizes/shrinks.
- Controls are in different windows in different modes. UI in confusing.
- It saves us from having to coordinate another tool for customers to install.
- Standard tool saves us on training.
- Helps us coordinate with out of country part of our team.
We use both Slack and Teams. We use Slack for most internal meetings and chats. We only use Teams because our larger company requires it, and many of our external customers already have it installed. If we could get customers to use Slack, we would drop Teams in a heartbeat. If MS improved the chat experience to match Slack, we could drop Slack.
