Overall Satisfaction with Miro

We use Miro extensively across our cross-functional team of about 60 people. A lot of our internal documentation lives there, looking at stuff is easy and we also do workshops with the whole team. Everyone figures out how it works fast, it is very simple. We try to get people into the habit of locking their boards but more often than not, the boards are getting moved around unknowingly by someone. The templates are great but for me - just working with lots of stickies is good enough. We do lots of custom templates - for example for debriefing sessions after user interviews. From then on, it is fairly easy to summarize, you can see the info from all participants at a glance and compose a coherent report. I always found it extremely frustrating working with Excel or Google Docs for the same purpose. Navigating cells when I am trying to think makes my brain hurt. We basically use it for everything. I have not complained, maybe a little lag when there are too many people on the board and the inability to have two type styles into one sticky. But hey, one can live well without the latter! As a designer, I have some habits from Figma that I try to carry over into Miro. Naturally, it doesn't always work and I am a little sad!
  • Remote workshops are a breeze.
  • Composing a custom template on the spot for whatever you need is as easy as pie.
  • More accessible shortcut for aligning stickies, designers be neat.
  • When a board is made, why don't we lock it by default, they are always moving around by ghosts.
  • Bold style for inside of some stickies - helps with organizing info.
  • I never read tips or a tutorial but they look very nice.
  • I want to have a space where I can see all the boards I favorite in my profile.
  • PIN to top for the boards I star - if I don't favorite the link address and just enter the tool, it takes me forever to find them from the left-hand menu. Big organizations have too much stuff there.
  • Everyone is on the same page about a project.
  • Working with data in stickies feels easy to me, so I am definitely more productive and it takes way less to have a good glimpse of say 10 user interviews.
  • Looking at into from a birds' eye view and spotting patterns.
It does lag a little when the boards get big and lots of people are in but it seems immaculately implemented.
It is very simple. I never worked with it before this company, it took 5 minutes to figure it out.
We rely on it a lot to be on the same page and put down our thoughts. It is great - everyone can take part.

Figma is a design tool but there are some similarities to Miro. I have acquired lots of habits from it that I kind of want to carry over - like selecting a group of stickies and quickly aligning them, group, ungroup, etc. I don't think each tool needs its own way of working for each basic feature.
Very well suited for remote workshops, working in big groups over the same information, breaking down large amounts of data into small bites that you can reorganize, putting down everyone's thoughts "on paper". Less appropriate - official reports that you need to distribute across departments. Sadly, slides are still needed for that.
