Overall Satisfaction with Miro

I use Miro to analyze my business partner's needs when we are designing applications for them. We write out their current steps, processes, needs, pain points, and requirements on Miro and then use the tool to brainstorm and prioritize possible solutions. I have also used Miro for retrospective workshops to see what can be improved in the future.

Pros

  • Brainstorming.
  • Process Maps.
  • Workshops.

Cons

  • Sometimes when I draw multiple arrows from the same side of a shape, some arrowheads disappear after visiting the board the next time.
  • One time, I used the mind map template, and several words that I added in disappeared after I went into the board later.
  • Better collaboration.
  • Improved brainstorming.
  • Greater visualization.
Miro has been implemented very well. The user interface is very friendly to use and intuitive for first-time users that I have introduced to the tool. I am more used to the original layout of the toolbar in Miro, however, and I do not like how I have to scroll down the left toolbar to see more options.
I have used Miro's integration with Jira and found it was great to be able to see my Miro board displayed in Jira. I have not had a chance to explore integration with other things, but I am excited to see further integration with other tools in the future when they become available.
Due to the pandemic, my team is currently fully working remotely at the moment and Miro has made it great for us to brainstorm and collaborate together as a group. We love the ability for multiple people to work together on one board and make comments on each other's work.

  • MURAL (formerly Mural.ly)
I selected Miro because the interface was cleaner and seemed to have more functionalities. I was using MURAL before and then I noticed other teams using Miro. After they introduced Miro to me and showed me some of the work that they did on this tool, I really liked it and so I started using Miro instead.
Miro is great for brainstorming. You can write your ideas onto virtual sticky notes and freely move them around. I've also used it to draw process flows to map out the process that a group goes through. I've also used Miro to plan, keep track of action items, and assign tasks to my team. Furthermore, the timer and voting functionality makes it easy to run workshops. There are also many templates available.

Using Miro

  • Workshop
  • Process Flows
  • Brainstorm
  • Icebreakers
  • Games
  • Integrations with other software tools
Miro is very easy to use. I am able to use it in so many different ways and I be able to do so much with the tool. So many of my projects depend on it and I will definitely need to continue working off of the boards I have already created

Evaluating Miro and Competitors

  • Product Features
  • Product Usability
  • Prior Experience with the Product
Before recommending Miro to my team, I have looked at the features that Miro has to offer such as sticky notes, diagraming, and templates. I also tried the free version to try it out myself. I also talked to others who have used Miro before for their own projects to hear why they are using it.
I would not change my mind in the selection process. Miro is wonderful to use and can be a tool for so many different things. Especially when we are working remotely, I find it is great to be able to have a collaboration whiteboarding tool online for my team to work off of. The templates have also been helpful
