Overall Satisfaction with Miro

Miro helps us iterate on and solve problems that require us to visualize our thinking (across design and product needs, especially). When there is a need to reflect during our sprint retrospectives or create a roadmap, we use its pre-loaded templates to help us as well.

Pros

  • Creative templates
  • No spatial or zooming restrictions
  • Easy co-working or collaboration
  • Can fit so much content into a single board

Cons

  • Sprint planning - estimation capability requires manual selection of a card each time instead of letting a team flip through several stories and size them automatically as we go
  • Access within Apple was a little finicky to navigate - we had to go through the single sign-on and not the "Sign in with Apple," which confused our teammates
  • Improved iteration on artifacts (roadmaps, design reviews)
  • Increased time taken to plan sprint - we had to revert back to our old sprint planning method
  • Improved quality of team retrospectives greatly because everyone could participate
I thought it was very well implemented, and I do not have any key insights in this area.
I would say that in our organization, Miro could have been integrated in a better manner. Access sat with a small group for a very long time, and it was quite manual for us. If Miro could work on making access easier to plug into companies, that would be helpful. One example of how to do that might be to create an automated or online process for requesting access and then being granted access within a certain period of time. We had to manually enter our details on a spreadsheet so someone could give us access.
It has been a huge asset when it comes to our team because we are located in different time zones. When we produce something, it's really easy to share it with others for continuous iteration.

Do you think Miro delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Miro's feature set?

Yes

Yes

Did implementation of Miro go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Miro again?

Yes

The only other product like Miro I've used is Figma. Figma is much more difficult to navigate when it comes to creating templates or even kickstarting a project. I find Miro's interface to be much more intuitive and easy to work with. However, I am not a designer, and Figma supports more obvious design capabilities (vectors, SVG exports, icon packs), but I may have simply missed them in Miro.
If a technical or engineering colleague asked me about using Miro, I would not be as likely to recommend it to them because it's very free-flowing by nature and is meant for more creative use cases (at least on my team). I highly recommend it to my design and product colleagues who have to produce artifacts like design files or roadmaps. Miro has a great deal of templates that allow you to focus on content rather than look and feel.
