Overall Satisfaction with Miro
I was first introduced to Miro by a colleague at a previous company. There, we used it to visually map out which internal applications and services would be affected by a coming change. 174 apps later, color-coded and mapped, this became a much more doable project. Currently, miro helps us collaborate on identifying stakeholder impacts visually (size and color of the boxes, etc). Working in a hybrid/fully remote environment now, we can't all be in the same physical conference room for a traditional brainstorming session. Miro takes the place of our whiteboard sessions, reducing waste and space too, and ensures legibility rather than prevailing on the one coworker with the good handwriting.
Pros
- Visually map stakeholder impacts
- Actually easy to use interface
- Easy to shift, reorganize, color code, and arrange, just like you would post-it notes on a real whiteboard without the rewriting and hoping they all stick
Cons
- Cursor clicks need to be specific or you'll move a page but not the post-it
- Improved consensus
- Better big brain work
- Improved collaboration
Has enabled us to better work across timezones, reduced issues with handwriting or shorthand reduced post-its that have lost their stickiness, or just simply lost post-its. Reduces rewriting time when you can just change the color of the note and move it
