Use Cases and Deployment Scope

My team uses Miro every week in refinement to break down large bodies of work and document requirements and open questions. We've also started using it to do wireframes and design reviews that help to get all team members on the same page when we are working in a distributed way.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Live editing by multiple users.
Integrates well with Jira.
Embed live links to documents.

Cons

Ability to do calculations within the app.
Locking/Editing templates.
Additional integrations with other software.

Return on Investment

Improved productivity.
Increased alignment within squad.
Better engagement in meetings.

Ease of Integration

The integration with Jira was very simple and allows for updates or creation within Miro or Jira. Now, it's as simple as copying and pasting the Jira URL to add a ticket in Miro.

Collaboration

The majority of my team is distributed, and this has allowed for a dynamic way for us to interact in meetings. I've seen active participation in discussions increase, and it allows everyone to engage asynchronously in a way that's easy to follow.

Likelihood to Recommend

Miro is great for being a virtual whiteboard with light integrations and a suite of templates to use. It's easy to see who's actively working on a page, direct focus to a particular location on a page (through cursor location or automatically), and is a very accessible tool for technical and non-technical users. If you're looking for any sort of guided process where you just enter information and the view is automatically built, this is not the tool for that.
