Overall Satisfaction with Miro

Our team is spread across 11 countries, covering all time zones: time zones are not our friend! To minimise the impact to people working outside of designated hours, we use miro to collaborate, share ideas, iterate and keep our progress moving swiftly. Miro's templates are a great starting point for many conversations; we can follow along with the structure, with everyone contributing during normal daylight hours. While I'm sleeping, the team are picking up ideas I've started to build during my day, and when I wake up in the morning, we've moved several steps ahead - it's magic! I really like how each board is infinite; we can keep adding and evolving: it's the digital whiteboard I needed since we've all moved online. Miro saves us time through collaboration, reduces the headaches of working globally and remotely, and improves employee satisfaction. My one ask for the product team is to find a way to export the boards if we need to take things offline. At the moment, it involves lots of screenshots and isn't easy like the rest of the platform.

Pros

  • Templates to get the conversation/collaboration started
  • Sharing with members outside of the team but limiting their access to specific boards
  • Search to find boards and content within a board

Cons

  • Export of content, pdfs have pages split, so we have to screenshot to get out into PowerPoint (we don't want to invite everyone)
  • I've noticed some of my company don't understand how to use security, make it easier so people know if you share with the company anyone with a miro account will see your content
  • Allow comment to include emails who aren't assigned to the board (they may have guest access)
  • Increased employee satisfaction
  • Reduced costs through effective collaboration i.e. more productive
  • Improved ideation
Encourage use of miro for anything that is not "production" standard - ie. as you are building your processes / products, and need to gather ideas and feedback, miro is the perfect whiteboard without a start and finish. We prefer to move our SOPs to Confluence once products are built so we can track adoption and usage
It's so simple, anyone can do it
We are a global organisation, with team members in 11 countries across multiple time zones. It's impossible for us to spend hours together throughout a week without people working outside of hours. We want to limit the time we ask our people to work on family time, so miro offers the perfect opportunity to collaborate. We can add pictures and notes, tag individuals with comments they can pick up the next day. Miro is knit into our standard operating rhythm and offers the flex we require to run our team at pace.

Yes

Are you happy with Miro's feature set?

Yes

Did Miro live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Miro go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Miro again?

Yes

Miro is well suited for inviting collaboration and giving both introverts and extroverts the opportunity to contribute. We find it works particularly well across different timezones by including detailed instructions on what is required. Miro is not suited for when content should be shared offline.
