Overall Satisfaction with Miro

I use Miro on a daily basis to do brainstorming sessions, planning, and design processes. The interactive interface makes it easy and fast to put ideas on the screen while sharing with others. Also, designing in real-time with your team saves a lot of time.

Some examples of my tasks using Miro:
  • Design documentation pages (information architecture)
  • Design the documentation portal layout
  • Retrospective meetings
  • Documentation processes
  • Career presentation

Pros

  • Diagram designing
  • Brainstorming sessions
  • Collaborative design

Cons

  • While designing diagrams, arrows should always be aligned by default.
  • Some boards are so big that they take a while to render completely.
  • Some boards are so big that feel a little laggy.
  • Improved productivity
  • Reduced design completion time and easy update when needed
  • Improved team work, specially after remote work became our new reality
Miro helped my team to work better together on complex projects due to collaborative whiteboards. Retrospectives were also improved since we all put ideas together. Miro gives us a good opportunity to share the ownership of a project since everyone can work at the same time. Also, working collaboratively is an opportunity to not depend on time zones and do some asynchronous work, saving time for remote workers.

Do you think Miro delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Miro's feature set?

Yes

Did Miro live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Miro go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Miro again?

Yes

Against Zoom:
  • Miro is faster
  • Miro's experience designing is smoother
  • Miro's zoom-in and zoom-out feature feels easier to use
Against Figma:
  • Miro feels more user-friendly than Figma
  • Miro requires less specialization to be able to work fast
Against draw.io:
  • Miro is faster
  • Miro's experience design feels smoother
  • Miro's interface feels cleaner
Miro is great if you need to put your ideas somewhere and want a quick design tool. It's very smooth to start a new design, Miro does the basic stuff like putting arrows and creating new squares with 1~2 clicks so you can focus on your ideas.

Miro is also great if you want to design collaboratively. If you need to design together you can share your board with edit permission, but if you only need some feedback, you can share with comment permission only.

I feel Miro is not ideal if you need to follow up with a release since it would be manually performed.
