Overall Satisfaction with Miro

I use Miro for a variety of reasons but the top three uses are project management, workshops with stakeholder, and research analysis and synthesis.

The main business problems that Miro solves for are understanding the problems we're trying to solve, ideating on the best ways to solve identified problems, creating a shared understanding of a space, and collaborating virtually.

I use Miro from my own personal project management and professional development to workshops from the IC to senior leadership level.

  • Visualizing thoughts and a conversation
  • Async virtual collaboration
  • Organizing thoughts / brain dumping
  • Adding sort/filtering to tables
  • Lag times with boards that have a lot on them
  • Lag times when you have a large group of people in the board at once
  • I have not quantified my work using Miro - it could likely be done though
  • Sometimes Miro documentation can be cumbersome though
  • Miro can be difficult to learn how to use per stakeholders that are less tech savvy
This was a game changer since Covid happened and we went remote. I run a lot of workshops with my teams, and Miro allowed me to continue doing that AND have a virtual document of the discussion and findings that could be more easily turned into a report than paper notes.
I didn't use Mural as much so I don't have a great comparison. I know our enterprise went with Miro so we lost Mural access. We do have access to Fig Jam which is part of Figma, but I don't use it because I like Miro and don't want to learn another tool.

Do you think Miro delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Miro's feature set?

Yes

Did Miro live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Miro go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Miro again?

Yes

I use Miro every day and throughout the day. It's great for analyzing qualitative data and has a great Excel to sticky note (and vice versa) functionality. Miro is not great for quant analysis or for prototyping designs though. For those activities, I recommend using tools suited for it such as Excel, Qualtrics, Figma, etc.
