Overall Satisfaction with Miro
As a user researcher, I use Miro all the time at NHS Education for Scotland, in order to plan research activities, conduct co-design workshops and Focus groups and generally for anything that requires collaborating with others. It's my 'go to' tool for most things I do and I really wouldn't know what to use instead if we didn't have Miro. Love it and it gets better all the time with new features being introduced regularly.
Pros
- Stakeholder workshops
- Planning and ideation
- Complex analysis of qualitative data
Cons
- More options for organising boards by projects (not just teams)
- Quicker/easier collaboration
- Decreases the need for travel to run workshops
- Increases productivity
- Keeps everything very visual and more creative leading to more innovation.
I think having so many useful templates as starting points for research activities has had a really big impact on my work. I find them so useful for inspiration. I don't always use them as they are, but being able to use elements of them is very helpful and saves me time. I've also been trying out the new AI features, which at first I didn't think were so great, but I've noticed how much they've improved recently and will be using them more going forward. I think we've all had to jump aboard the AI bandwagon, but the journey looks interesting!
I think it can replace several other tools that I used to use (can't remember what exactly now, but it has). I am now using a research repository, so it's not the only tool in my artillery, but it's certainly the one I use most for planning and carrying out research activities.
It has made remote working so much easier, our organisation is spread across multiple locations in Scotland, having Miro means that I can work collaboratively with colleagues who are not in the same location. Without a tool like Miro it would be incredibly hard to work in this way. I have become rather a Miro advocate at our organisation and have helped many others get started with using it.
I preferred Miro to Mural because of it's cleaner and more intuitive interface, I can't really say too much more as I didn't continue using Mural. I was glad I'd chosen Miro as it was the tool the NHS were using when I joined a couple of years ago, would have hated to have had to use something else.

Yes - Good for a quick check of something. Not sure I'd want to use if for main activities, but appreciate it being there. I do find Miro is more suited to a large screen though for maximum ease of use.
