Overall Satisfaction with Miro

We mainly use Miro as a tool within our Design team. We use boards in the early research stages, setting up flows, or benchmarks and moodboards. We also use it to facilitate different workshops with clients (Vision, Ecosystem Mapping, Personas, User Journey, Sketching workshops, etc..). It has become an invaluable tool in our User Interview restitutions also.

Pros

  • Flows and diagrams
  • Collaboration within boards
  • Shortcuts e.g. quick creation of stickies

Cons

  • Since we work with clients who don't always have an account, it can be difficult for them to leave comments directly in a board so we can see where they have questions
  • Sometimes the load time can freeze while working within a file
  • In presentation mode, it is now more difficult to place screens in the right order. Whereas I used to be able to see my workspace as a reference, now the focus mode makes it impossible for me to see the order I had set.
  • We also work in french; it would be great for the AI tools to work with French too (it's great that it is able to input french! just looking forward to the output also)
  • Very reactive and flexible with clients, helping us gain confidence
  • Increased quality of deliverables
  • Improved collaboration
We considered switching to Figjam when it was first introduced, however we were not convinced it met the same quality as the features available to us within Miro. We've been very happy with its implementation within our team.
In every way! We work hybrid within our team, and so collaborating remotely is essential. Our clients are also not always coming into the office, so I'd say 95% of our work is all done remotely. We do have other tools that help us to work remotely, but Miro is by far one of the easiest for new colleagues and clients to onboard.
We generally found cross-functional collaboration and client input to be easier within Miro than with Figma. This related somewhat to the ability ti invite "guests" into the space to participate, and its ease-of-use in-browser.

Do you think Miro delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Miro's feature set?

Yes

Did Miro live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Miro go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Miro again?

Yes

Very well suited for workshops and collaboration. It's a tool we'd like everyone to be using, however the drawback I can see is the cost. We often won't give creator roles to our other teams (development and AI) because of the costs associated with the tool.
