Overall Satisfaction with monday.com

We use Monday.com as a full blown CRM as well as a project management tool, an event management tool, and a logistics/supply chain tool. We are a small business that needs to consolidate information and spend wisely on products that can deliver quality benefits with close integration to other programs (outlook, zoom, etc) without complicated or custom-coded connections. We also need flexibility as we are creating new products and new processes to go with them, and can't be limited by our CRM or inventory management.
  • Adaptable to any kind of B2B or B2B2C configuration
  • Frequent non-disruptive updates improve benefits without derailing current processes
  • Training and a wealth of useful how-to videos are easy to find online
  • Colorful, intuitive, adaptable interface with only a few mystifying features
  • Automations are tied to the users who create them, so they may need to be re-created due to turnover or role changes
  • Connection to Excel is messy - either 1 group at a time or an entire board, and you'll need to tweak it a lot on the excel side once it's there - needs a .csv/plaintext simple export
  • Not trivial to connect to a web form that can intake website leads, which seems like it should be a more core functionality
  • Better collaboration
  • Significant cost savings compared to Salesforce, for a simpler and more user friendly product
  • Launch new products/trainings/playbooks in days, not weeks or months
It is highly usable and highly customizable, but the "200 templates" does get at some of the issue with Monday as well, that it can take time and effort to find the best template, and certain automations are very simple while others - involving formulas, variable data, or external-facing forms - can be tricky. Sometimes there are 10 different ways to do the same thing, which can be good, but is less good when there is 1 right way and 9 ways that seem right until you get to the last couple of steps. In any event, once set up, the tool is actively fun to use and sales teams, marketing teams, development teams and management teams can all enjoy the benefits of its robust data management and great reporting/charting features.
It's great, and I know it's important for some people to get ahold of a real human, but what I'd rather get is a correct solution from a google search. Having to talk to people and explain the whole business when detailing why I need a certain alert trigger or automation is inefficient use of time, I just want to hit a knowledge base or community article with the answer. Likewise video training is a great thing in principle but needing to wade through a whole video just to find out how to set up a two-column trigger is a chore.
Monday.com is an incredible product that looks great, works great, and delivers on its promise. The company seems genuinely grateful for its customers and poised for even more growth and expansion in the future. Its not an exaggeration to say it saved our business, because we needed a lot of customization and couldn't afford to build a bespoke product that in the end would still lack 90% of the features Monday.com comes with, built in. I like that it aligns with Covey's 7 habits and the various productivity Matrices one might use to assign urgency and importance or other qualities. It's a great product and my small criticisms should be seen simply as the product still having room to grow, not as complaints.

Small businesses with a lot of moving parts can easily be unified and boosted by implementing Monday.com. It combines the features of a spreadsheet, database, document manager, playbook, project manager, and others into one interface that requires no programming to customize deeply. Definitely adapts to existing business rather than demanding a change to adapt the business to the CRM. It used to be a toy but it has definitely grown up.

monday.com & Collaboration

Monday.com makes it effortless to manage tasks across and inside teams of people with multiple ways to group people and activities. We currently use it as the primary management tool for events planning, combining the 'task b depends on task a completion' feature with owner and role assignments on projects to successfully predict timelines and resource bottlenecks. This is easily accomplished with only a basic level of user skill and then once built, is incredibly useful for the teams as well as management oversight of team activity.

I've used Salesforce (which doesn't really have this ability at all) as well as Aha! (which was great, but definitely a SaaS developer/marketer tool, not something more broadly useful without shoehorning), so I may not know of other more popular solutions, but I have never hit a wall when it comes to Monday.com project management features. Creative and elegant automations and integrations can solve problems you might have just assumed you'd always have.
