Overall Satisfaction with monday.com

We use monday.com for project management within our Marketing and Communications team. Internally, we use various boards to keep track of project status, deadlines, and streamline collaboration among team members. We also invite clients to participate on client-specific boards, so we can keep track of drafts, approvals, and comments.

Pros

  • Project management
  • Collaboration
  • Client management
  • Notifications
  • File management

Cons

  • Onboarding
  • Training
  • Pre-set board templates
  • Efficiency
  • Collaboration
  • Streamlining project communication
As someone who is more familiar with technology, I find monday.com pretty easy to use. However, I've noticed with the clients we have onboarded (and some fellow colleagues) that not everyone finds it that easy to navigate. We've had to develop our own onboarding documentation and training for new client users and even then, it's sometimes difficult to get them to use it consistently rather than defaulting to email correspondence.
I have not had any experience working directly with customer support at monday.com. I have heard from other colleagues, however, that customer service representatives have been helpful in providing ideas to improve our usage of the product. They have also reached out to our organization to offer more extensive training opportunities for our team.
I haven't experienced many issues with performance and reliability. In the two years I've used monday.com, I think there have maybe been one or two times where it was 'down,' and even then, it was a pretty brief period of time. I haven't experienced any issues with the site not saving changes I've made or other functionality issues.

Do you think monday.com delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with monday.com's feature set?

Yes

Did monday.com live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of monday.com go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy monday.com again?

Yes

monday.com is a great product for project management. It's extremely customizable, so it's really easy to set up boards to keep track of progress, files, comments and input from clients, and internal communication. One thing I've noticed it doesn't do particularly well is provide tools for tracking project performance and metrics for reporting. There also doesn't seem to be a great way to query on information within your boards. The mobile app is also a bit lacking, in my opinion.

monday.com & Collaboration

We use monday.com as a cross-team collaboration tool within our Marketing and Communications team. We're able to easily ping designers, copywriters, copyeditors, video production specialists, web developers, etc. on specific components of a project by either tagging them directly, tagging a pre-set group of individuals (e.g. "the web team"), or assigning specific individuals or groups to specific boards and tasks. When a team member is assigned to a board or task, they receive a notification within monday.com (and/or by email, depending on their notification settings) that there has been an update. This has really helped to streamline our internal communication process.
