Overall Satisfaction with monday.com

We have implemented monday.com to improve the capture and handling of project requests from start to finish. This transparency enables us to take a more honest approach to planning, and gives our customer facing teams the ability to set realistic expectations with our clients. We are also exploring opportunities in the CRM team, with a view to directly integrating their wins into our project lifecycle. The automations and easy to interpret interface helped us implement quickly, and users were able to navigate and update their workstreams with just a few minutes coaching.

Pros

  • Simple, easy to configure automation recipes
  • Dynamic dashboards, allowing for swift visibility of key project data
  • Friendly, familiar UX

Cons

  • Some of the recipes could be more dynamic, allowing for more intelligent sorting (for example.)
  • The sales team seem slow to respond to inquiries. We raised a question about Enterprise licensing and are still waiting for a reply.
  • Limiting some fairly basic functionality (user permissions etc) to the Enterprise license feels a bit sneaky.
  • Much quicker project onboarding, with the ability to create plans in minutes.
  • Employee utilisation is strong, with engagement looking significantly better than our previous approach.
  • Visibility of project progress is much improved, something our board has found particularly valuable.
Where templates have been used, they are either ready out of the box or easily adaptable. For boards we've created from scratch, the configuration of appropriate automations/integrations has been proven to be very straightforward. The simplicity of the interface meant we were able to quickly visualise our current portfolio, and make decisions on how best to tackle legacy workload.
Fortunately we've not had to contact support for any day to day issues, but their Sales team have been disappointingly slow in responding to our inquiries about Enterprise licensing. This is something we're keen to understand in more detail, but we've been left waiting several days for a response.
So far, everything has worked as intended. We haven't experienced any downtime or service/functionality issues, and the system performs exactly as we'd expect it to. Some of the external apps are clunky in their execution, but this isn't something we plan to explore in great detail anyway and as such doesn't detract from the overall user experience.

We've found monday.com particularly useful in documenting our Project Portfolio. This had previously been managed (somewhat unsuccessfully) in a series of Excel spreadsheets and trackers. The move to a more dynamic environment has allowed us to implement live project status updates and dashboards to improve overall visibility of the work underway in the business.
