Nintex Workflow for Sharepoint

Overall Satisfaction with Nintex

Nintex Process Platform is used across the whole organization. We use it to digitalize our business processes within the SharePoint environment. Easy to use but depending on the SharePoint settings. Could be more stable. We also use Nintex Forms. But the Nintex product seems to be fine for On-Prem but very expensive in the cloud. So have a focus on the market to check also other workflow tools.

Pros

  • User friendly
  • Easy to integrate with SharePoint
  • Nice visalization
  • Good overview about process status

Cons

  • Improvement of stability
  • Better performance
  • Cloud service price is expensive
  • Positive Impact on average speed of business processes
  • Negative impact with its additional costs for each process in the cloud, so you don't like to create many processes in the cloud
  • A good solution to get familiar with workflows, but there are some more workflow tools in the market which are specialized on different tools. So there is not the single great solution to do all the workflows in one tool
Very good User intercase, offen bitter than Microsoft Powerautomate.
SAP, SharePoint
We use SharePoint 2013 On Prem and plan to migrate to the cloud. I like the apporach that it can be installed inside a SharePoint Server and doesn't need a separate server which is good for the it administrators, because they do not need to care about an additional server.
It is used be team leaders and users who need forms and processes within a approval workflow. Easy to use in SharePoint lists with forms, emailing and workflow approval tasks. But all of the configration and process creation steps is still done by the IT department. So it could improve still its usability.
It is faster than working with the old SharePoint Designer and its textual design or Visual Studio with coding. Less complex workflow can be done very good with Nintex. For large and complex workflow I would recommend other workflow tools. Nintex helps basically to move into the direction of a paperless office.
The end users do not create workflows. Workflows are still created by the IT department. This is a bottleneck. Industrial companies do not have large IT departments or money to pay for a lot of external consultants to create workflows. So the workflow creation process needs to improve. SAAS in the cloud is a good approach, but the pricing should be more friendly. I don't want to pay for each small workflow, it costs a lot of time to calculate the ROI of each workflow, get the approval by the management to be allowed to pay money or time on it to create the next workflow.
I used SharePoint Designer and Microsoft Visual Studio. We are testing also Microsoft Office 365 Power Automate and Power Apps which are in a competition to the Nintex Workflow Cloud. K2 was not tested but in the focus, at the end the pricing was to expensive for small/mid size companies.

Do you think Nintex delivers good value for the price?

No

Are you happy with Nintex's feature set?

Yes

Did Nintex live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Nintex go as expected?

No

Would you buy Nintex again?

No

[Nintex Process Platform] is well suited for [users] who are less familiar with business processes and workflows. I can recommend it if you can rely on the server farm and its services. It is less appropriate when you have to administrate SharePoint and the depending service with its updates and configuration, so a lot more work to do.

Using Nintex

2000 - Internal manual Prozesses and approvals brought down to Digital fester workflows with better transparency.
1 - SharePoint, O365, Knowledge in Prozesses and Workflows.
  • Approvals
  • Bettet transparency
  • Fester processes
Because the license Model is expensive and with microsoft flow/powerautomate we can achieve the most targets with less Costs.
But indeed the User interface of nintex is was better.

Evaluating Nintex and Competitors

  • Cloud Solutions
  • Scalability
  • Integration with Other Systems
  • Ease of Use
The ease of Use. The IT Team is always a bottlenecke, Powerautomate is to complex for normal users. Nintex is was better in this was die citicen development.
The return on invest would be compared between powerautomate and nintex and the ongoing Costs. If the Arena nearly the same, nintex would be the was to go.
