Overall Satisfaction with Optimizely Web Experimentation
The product helps us test and optimize how we sell our packages online. Instead of just offering individual products, we want to see if promoting bundled packages performs better. We mainly use A/B testing to compare different versions of pages that lead to our package offerings. We also use personalization to tailor content based on the user’s region, so they see more relevant messaging or offers.

- Great conversion maximization features like CMAB
- Stats Accelerator feature is one of the best we've used
Cons
- JavaScript is hard to implement sometimes especially for JQuery elements
- ROI reporting should be part of the overall experimentation reporting
- CMP integration: where we can easily show status of test on the HPT request
- CMS integration
- More widgets like social proof banners, etc.
- we saved money by not implementing certain copy/design
- we learned that customers from different states react different to a variation
- we are slowly learning where conversion happens and where to fix the frictions
- Testing shorter vs longer journeys increased funnel conversion in some states - we avoided implementing this nationwide
We have the SaaS CMS with one of our sites and have already started conducting A/B tests with our Optimizely Web Experimentation. We also have CMP, which we are excited to start using for our experimentation workflow and working with the Marketing departments. We are about to be using ODP as well, so we can start creating real-time segment personalization on our sites.
Having all these products is making our jobs easier and is letting us see the information from a test to a page very in one place. As we implement and use this in the daily basis we think we will be even more productive with the way we test, implement and segment personalizations.
We use personalization mainly to display content or fix what we can't do with our CMS, so this has been a great benefit to us. For experimentation, our culture has evolved thanks to all the documentation Optimizely provides and its webinars. Getting educated has been super beneficial and allows us to educate everyone internally. Our departments are now very knowledgeable about testing and understand how to create hypotheses, goals, etc.
