Overall Satisfaction with Parallels Remote Application Server

Parallels RAS is being used for the deployment and access to our district's ERP system. In addition, we are publishing software for our School Psychologists requiring hardware dongles to non-compatible machines, and various home-grown solutions. Clients are using a mix of Mac & Windows devices, with speed that was not possible before when running fat clients on the machines.
  • Administration.
  • Remote Access.
  • Connection errors when clients switch network connections.
  • Increased access to applications from mobile users.
Our previous Citrix environment was aging, and when we spoke with our ERP vendor, and discovered that they were using Parallels Remote Application Server as their own hosting platform for hosted clients, it made it an easier decision to deploy knowing that they were using the platform themselves successfully.
The ability to deploy applications to our expanded macOS fleet has been a game-changer for a lot of our staff.
Since we use VMware ESXi and vCenter, we have been able to greatly speed up the deployment of new servers and services through parallels. Adding a new server to the Farm, installing and pushing the applications to new users, and demoting older servers as we try out new versions or ideas on how to deploy, has made life much easier.
We have been able to use groups more effectively to deploy applications to users and quickly expand the user base by adding new groups to an application deployment list.
Support has been very attentive to our needs, and we can quickly speak to a technician when needed. When running into issues, they had no problems working with engineers from our ERP system to ensure we had a smooth experience.

Yes

Would you buy Parallels Remote Application Server (Parallels RAS) again?

Yes

Parallels Remote Application Server is well suited for deploying thick client applications that are not well suited for working over a LAN or WAN due to latency or large data utilization. It also is extremely useful when you need to access a Windows application from a non-windows device (such as Mac, ChromeOS, or tablets).
